Our Story

The Du Toit & Sons Story

At Du Toit & Sons, we believe that the best things in life start at home. Our story began in 2023, when a playful comment from Juanri, wife of our founder D.G., about needing biltong to enjoy the Rugby World Cup, sparked the creation of our beloved family business.

Rooted in the 1800s in Paarl, our family legacy began with D.G.’s great-great-grandfather and his general store, "Smuts du Toit & Seun," on the corner of Main Road and Lady Grey Street. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to quality set the stage for what would become Du Toit & Sons.

Today, we craft artisanal products with the same care and tradition, including our celebrated biltong made from the finest cuts of meat. D.G. hopes to include his young sons, Philip and Ian, in the business as they grow, passing on the family legacy.

Our slogan, “From Our Home to Yours,” reflects our mission to share the warmth, flavour, and quality of our home with you.
